L.E.A.R.N. is a program that was developed to help support school age children living in the impoverished areas of Nakuru, Kenya obtain an education. Many times there are families who go hungry in order to be able to send just one of their children to school. For $80, three times a year you can adopt a child’s education by paying their school fees and uniform cost. Sponsors will receive a picture of their child and will be able to actively support and encourage their 'adopted' child by writing them letters and following their progress. The degree of involvement is up to the sponsor and the child being helped.
During the past five years we have been traveling to Kenya for the purpose of building the church and sharing the Life of Christ with her people. To us this is more than just a humanitarian ministry. We have left our home in America so as to become deeply involved in the lives of the people here. This allows us to better understand their struggles and desperation. We have seen God do some amazing things as we work to equip the saints in learning how to love one another and come together as the body of Christ here in Nakuru.
We also have seen a great and desperate need in the area of children getting an education and have developed a program to help them. Many parents are not able to obtain an education for their children because of the extreme poverty the live in. Yet, they so desire their children to have an opportunity to come out of their desperate life situations that everyday they find themselves in. This is the reason for the L.E.A.R.N. program.
You can help rescue these children from the debilitating cycle of poverty. Sponsoring these children is actively doing something about the impoverished condition that most of the world lives in. Help us help their parents to change the world they were born in by giving them a future through a decent education.
